  6. Take *e.g. Roasted Almonds, Pepita (Pumpkin Seeds), Sunflower Seeds, dried Sultanas, Currants, Raisins, Cranberries, Apricots and unsweetened Shaved Coconut Chips, etc

Combine Oil, Bananas (and Honey), then add Rolled Oats and mix well. This delicious and nutrient-dense paleo granola is one of my most popular recipes and much loved by the readers. Serve with dairy-free milk or yoghurt of choice and some fruit and berries. I never used to be a big granola fan because, let's be real, most store-bought ones taste like cardboard.

Steps to make My Granola (Oven-baked Muesli):
  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C.
  2. Melt Coconut Oil and mash the ripe Bananas very well. The sweetness comes from the Bananas, but you may wish to add 1 to 2 tablespoons Honey for extra sweetness.
  3. Combine Oil, Bananas (and Honey), then add Rolled Oats and mix well.
  4. Turn out the mixture onto a baking tray and bake for about 40 to 50 minutes or until the mixture is light brown and toasty. *Important: You need to stir and turn the mixture several times for even colour and to make sure the mixture is cooking evenly.
  5. Roughly chop the nuts and dried fruit if they are large.
  6. Remove the mixture from the oven and add the other ingredients, and mix evenly.
  7. Let cool before enjoying. It is so nice with unsweetened fresh yoghurt and fruit.

They taste stale, and make me feel like I'm going to crack a tooth. In a large bowl, stir to combine rolled oats, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, and coconut flakes. In a separate bowl, stir to combine maple syrup, brown sugar, oil, and salt. Slow and low is the key to dry-not-burnt granola. First, press the granola into an even layer before you put it in the oven, then stir it only once halfway through cooking.
