- Take 1 box Chocolate cake mix
- Get 1 box Chocolate pudding (large box)
- Prepare 1 can Cherry pie filling (21oz)
- Prepare 8 oz Cool whip
To assemble, cut each cake into two horizontal layers. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Frost top and sides of cake with remaining whipped cream, reserving some to pipe decorations, if desired. Spoon remaining filling onto top of cake.

- Make cake as instructed on box (fyi- I use milk instead of water) and bake
- Meanwhile prepare pudding as directed on box and chill while cake is baking/cooling
- When cake is done baking cut into squares and begin layering in your trifle bowl. - - Layer 1- cake - Layer 2- pudding - Layer 3- cherries (I usually just put the cherries around the sides of the bowl because I don't really love too much of that canned cherry flavor. If you do and you want to use an entire layer of cherries make sure you have 2 cans) - Layer 4- cool whip - - Start over til you reach the top of the bowl and decorate as you wish :)
- Chill for 4+ hours
