Steps to make Moong dal with fennel leaves:
  1. Boil moong dal with haldi and 2 spoons ghee in the cooker for 8 whistles.
  2. Meanwhile, chop onions, ginger, garlic, chillies and fennel leaves finely.
  3. Once the dal is boiled, pour some oil into a frying pan. Add some jeera and let it pop. Add chopped ginger, garlic and chillies. Saute lightly.
  4. Then add onions and saute till translucent. Throw in the finely chopped fennel leaves. Keep mixing to ensure the colour nor flavour is lost.
  5. Add the boiled moong dal to the frying pan. Add salt to taste.
  6. Add water if too thick. Let it boil for five minutes.
