Steps to make Moong dal with fennel leaves:
- Boil moong dal with haldi and 2 spoons ghee in the cooker for 8 whistles.
- Meanwhile, chop onions, ginger, garlic, chillies and fennel leaves finely.
- Once the dal is boiled, pour some oil into a frying pan. Add some jeera and let it pop. Add chopped ginger, garlic and chillies. Saute lightly.
- Then add onions and saute till translucent. Throw in the finely chopped fennel leaves. Keep mixing to ensure the colour nor flavour is lost.
- Add the boiled moong dal to the frying pan. Add salt to taste.
- Add water if too thick. Let it boil for five minutes.
