- Take 2 cup spinach
- Prepare 1 cup besan
- Prepare 1/4 Cup rice floor
- Make ready 4 spoon ginger-garlic,chilli paste
- Get 1 spoon Turmeric

- Get 3 spoon sesame seeds
- Take 1 spoon Lemon juice
- Take 1/4 spoon soda
- Get 1/4 cup water, or as required
- Prepare 1 spoon oil for grease tray oil to shallow frying
Can be had as it is or can be deep fried. A good appetizer or an evening snack with tea/coffee.. So far we have made alu vadi, kothimbir vadi and even kobichi vadi. Palak vadi becomes nice and crispy.
Steps to make Spinach Vadi:
- Firstly, in a large mixing bowl take chopped spinach leaves. wash and pat dry as presence of moisture will consume more besan. add besan & rice flour. additionally add ginger-garlic,chilli paste,turmeric, salt,sesame seeds, soda and 1 tsp lemon juice.
- Shape the dough to cylindrical shape greasing hand with oil. prepare the steamer and grease the tray with oil. steam the dough for 15-20 minutes on medium flame. make sure the dough is cooked well by checking inserting a tooth pick. cool the dough completely.and cut them into thick slices.
- Further shallow fry in hot oil. stir occasionally till the wadi turns crisp and golden brown finally, serve spinach vadi along with tomato sauce / chutney / chai
No one will believe that it is made from palak. This can be good option for evening or tea time snack. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Fry the vadi with some oil, in a kadhai, till golden brown in colour. Transfer it to a bowl and keep aside.
