Mincemeat is a traditional English treat that is usually used as filling for mince pies during Christmas, but it tastes great mixed with vanilla ice cream, as well. This recipe uses butter instead of the traditional suet, which makes this mincemeat suitable for vegetarians. Mincemeat is a mixture of chopped dried fruit, distilled spirits and spices, and sometimes beef suet, beef, or venison.

Mincemeat is one of the most popular of recent trending foods in the world. It’s simple, it is quick, it tastes delicious. It is enjoyed by millions daily. Mincemeat is something that I’ve loved my entire life. They’re nice and they look wonderful.

To begin with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have mincemeat using 7 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.

The ingredients needed to make Mincemeat:

  2. Get 50 g mixed peel (lemon & orange)
  3. Make ready 1 apple (5mm cube)
  4. Make ready 120 ml apple juice

Mincemeat definition is - minced meat. How to use mincemeat in a sentence. I copied this from The Virginia Housewife by Mary Randolph many, many years ago. It is supposedly the recipe used by Martha Washington.

Instructions to make Mincemeat:
  1. Cut the cored apple into 5 mm cubes
  2. Put all the ingredients into a pan
  3. Simmer gently for 30 mins (until absorbed)
  4. Once cooled, spoon the mixture into a jar.

The original recipe called for ingredients by pounds. I used the cheapest, fattiest burger I could find in place of the beef amd suet. I also use a pound of mixed candied fruit instead of the citron and peel. Supposedly this can be processed in a water bath. And that explains why very few people I know actually truly enjoy mincemeat versus simply eating it out of tradition (or being forced to so as not to offend Grandma!).
