Vegetarians, we've got ones for you, too. Traditional Mexican beef tacos are made with marinated sliced or shredded beef on soft corn tortillas. But, that's not what most Americans think of when we think of classic tacos. Most of us grew up eating ground beef tacos in a crispy corn shell or a soft flour tortilla, with lots of toppings.

  8. Mix steps 6 and 7, add the lemon juice, salt and pepper, and mix.
  9. Cut the lettuce into 1 cm strips.
  10. [Tortillas] Add all the tortilla ingredients to a large bowl and knead until the dough comes together.
  11. Once the dough comes together, divide into 12-15 balls. Cover in plastic wrap so they don't become dry.
  12. Roll the balls from step 11 into 15 cm diameter and 2 cm thick circles.
  13. Fry both sides on a frying pan.
  14. Fold the taco filling, lettuce, salsa, and cheese into the tortillas.

  16. If you put them on rice, you'll have taco rice.

Mexican pork chilli with a smoky barbecued flavour, served in crispy tortilla shells. Finishing the tacos with raw white onion, leafy green cilantro, and vibrant red chili pepper really makes the tacos pop with color.
