To begin with this recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can cook planked salmon using 6 ingredients and 8 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.
The ingredients needed to make Planked Salmon:
- Get 1 kg salmon fillet
- Make ready 3 tbsp brown sugar
- Get 1 tsp sea salt
- Prepare 1 pinch ground black pepper
- Take Zest of lime (optional)
- Prepare 1 tbsp lime juice
Instructions to make Planked Salmon:
- Soak a cedar plank in cold water for at least one hour, longer is better!
- Remove any pin bones from salmon, make small incisions in flesh, you can remove skin if you wish.
- Mix sugar, salt & pepper (and lime zest if using) together, sprinkle over salmon, wrap in cling film for 30 -45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 190C, when hot place plank in oven, on a baking tray, for 5 minutes.
- Remove salmon from cling film and place, skin side down, on plank, drizzle with any liquid, sprinkle on lime juice.
- Place in oven for 25-30 minutes until cooked, should be slightly pink in the middle.
- Serve with fried potatoes and peas or green salad.
- Also good with wild rice.
