  1. In a pressure cooker take rice and dal with 1 tsp of salt,4 -5 cups of water. Cook on high flame till 1 whistle, lower the flame and cook for 10 more minutes.
  2. When pressure from cooker goes down add in peas add more water mix it and close cooker again. Cook till 2 whistles.Off the flame.
  3. In a pan heat oil or ghee.Put cumin seeds, when it splutters add in green chillies, ginger garlic paste,onions and cook for a minute.Mix in the green puree, and cook till the spinach gets cooked now add mint leaves and salt to taste.(Tear the mint leaves).
  4. Then pour the cooked Khichdi in pan and mix thoroughly. Further cook for 1- 2 minutes and delicious Hariyali Khichdi is ready to serve.
  5. Serve it with curd,mango pickle or lemon pickle.
