For Mandi Spice Mix: In spice mixer,add black peppercorns,nutmeg,mace,dried ginger powder,green cardamom,cloves and grind to make a coarse powder & set aside. Even though it's not made like in the traditional mandi style, it'll taste pretty similar to restaurant bought. Last Friday i made this Mutton mandi recipe, it was a big hit! Usually, when i make mandi i use chilly powder.
Instructions to make Mutton mandi:
- Mandi masala: grind together corriander1.5 tbs, zeera 1 tbs,illaichi4 to5,long4 to 5,daarcheeni2 sticks,haldi1tsp,jaeful,javetri,dried lemon half Saffron1 pinch black pepper1tsp. And salt to taste
- Marinate meat with mandi masala adrak lehsun 1 tbs and green chilli paste.1 tbs
- Fry ur meat on high flame then add water and cook until tender. Give coal dum
- In the same pot take oil add mandi masala and cook rice.u can add carrots and kishmish too.
- Make chatni by blending together tomatoes, garlic,green coriander, chillies zeera and salt
- For serving place mutton pieces on rice and serve with cucumber and chatni
