You will need round steaks, if you can't find them you can use a top round roast or a bottom round roast.; Cut that roast into thick slices. Make a dredge for the meat by adding flour, salt and pepper to a large plate. Coat the meat on both sides and transfer to a plate. Browned round steak is tossed in a slow cooker with vegetables, seasonings, and tomato juice and cooked until the meat is tender.

  4. Once instant potatoes are prepared put spoonfuls of the potatoes on top to the steak mixture right in the crockpot. Turn crockpot on warm until ready to serve. If desired you can add some shredded cheese on top.

Heat the oil in a skillet, then coat the steak with flour and brown in the oil. Remove the steak from the skillet and drain. Place the potatoes, carrots and onion in the bottom of the Crock-Pot.
