  12. Prepare 2 tbsp sake, 2 tsp salt, 2 tsp sugar per 2000cc water for cooking meat

Though the recipe calls for a combination of carrots and green beans, other vegetables such as mushrooms, asparagus, peppers or scallions would. Shabu Shabu is a Japanese hot pot dish (Nabemono), with paper-thin sliced beef. It is cooked at the dinner table using a portable gas stove and we eat it as we cook.   2. Soak the meats in the sauce to be blended together. Let them cool.
  3. Just before eating, arrange the meats and all vegetables in a plate. Dip them into your favorite sauce or dressing before eating.

If you prefer, you may use sliced beef too. Shabu Shabu is actually an onomatopoeia. "Shabu Shabu" is the imitation sound of thinly sliced meat that is swished around a couple times in hot boiling water. Or you can use any kinds of vegetable you like for the salad!
