Poha with any ingredient is a simple, quick and tasty breakfast/snack option loved by all. It is very convenient to make with simple everyday ingredients. A simple tempering and veggies like onions, tomatoes and capsicum transform the bread cubes into a scrumptious dish. Followed by cooked mashed tuvar dal.
Instructions to make Steamed Poha Veggie bites:
- Take poha and wash very nicely and drain the water completely in a sieve. Put curd in it. Mix well and keep aside for 5-7 minutes.
- Crumble poha with hands and add Gram flour in it and mix well. Take chopped vegetables, green chillies and mix them in poha mix.
- Add spices- Turmeric powder, pepper powder, chat masala, salt, red chilli powder. Mix well.
- Mix well and form a dough. Gram flour can be added if you find the dough a little wet. Grease katoris and put the dough evenly in Katoris.
- Boil water in a steamer. Place the Katoris in steamer. Sprinkle little red chilli powder on top(optional).Steam for about 10-12 minutes on low flame. You can check by inserting a knife.
- Take out the Katoris from steamer and demould the rings from Katori after 5 minutes.Be careful while demoulding.Demould using knife.
- These steamed bites can be relished as such with any chutney or can be shallow fried and enjoyed.
Combine everything and bring to to a boil. Next, add the washed, drained avalakki/poha, jaggery and salt to taste. Give it a mix, bring it to a boil.
