Our Salsa verde recipe is really easy to make and the ingredients are available at almost every supermarket. You can use tomatillos that look like small green tomatoes and are covered in a papery husk or the larger green tomatoes, tomates verdes. - Preheat oven to broil.
- Place tomatillos and serrano pepper on a baking sheet and broil in the oven 5 inches below broil coils for 5 minutes on each side; until the tomatillos and serrano pepper blisters and blacken.
- In a high power blender add below ingredients and blend on high until the texture is a puree. You should have roughly 2 cups of Salsa Verde when done, and serve!

This is a roasted version of green salsa - nothing overly roasted or too far blackened for my liking, just a fair char on two sides. Salsa verde is really easy to make from scratch, all you need are tomatillos, onion, jalapeño, lime, and cilantro.
