  7. Prepare 14.5 ounce diced tomatoes

  9. Get Beer (I prefer Heineken)
  10. Prepare 15 ounce Kidney Beans
  11. Get Chili Seasoning Mix (see my recipe)
  12. Take Ground black pepper
  13. Take Cayenne pepper

Other bottled beers like lagers, porters, or brown ales will work too. You don't want to use hoppy IPAs and other strong flavored or fruity beers. VARIATIONS ON BRISKET BEER AND BEAN CHILI. You could also make this with leftover Roast Turkey during the holidays.; Beer: The best beer to use is a dark beer like a stout or a lager.

Steps to make Beer Chili:
  1. Brown ground beef/beef stew meat in a large pot and season with salt, pepper, and chili powder
  2. While browning meat: in another pan heat olive oil (about 2 teaspoons) and add diced green pepper and diced onion. Cook until translucent and then add garlic, cook another 2 minutes. Add to ground beef/beef stew meat pot.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and then turn down the heat to a simmer or transfer to a crockpot.
  4. The longer it cooks the better it is!!!
  5. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and onions. Or whatever is your favorite. ENJOY!!!

Normally, I tend to think chili needs bell pepper for flavor, but I only chopped one sweet onion for this one. I also used pre-minced garlic to save you some time. Just make sure your jar is fresh, or you'll be missing out on flavor. Add crushed tomatoes, beans, and beer. Bring chili to boil, stirring occasionally.
