  14. Take 3 cups water
  15. Get 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  16. Prepare 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  17. Get Cooking oil
  18. Take to taste Salt and pepper
  19. Get Optional: fried chicken liver chopped, squidballs & cashew nuts

It traditionally includes bite-sized meat such as pork, chicken, or shrimp. and assorted vegetables such as celery, broccoli, carrots, or cabbage flash-cooked in a starch-thickened sauce. In a skillet, brown beef; drain. Combine remaining water with cornstarch; stir into beef mixture. Chop Suey is a classic American-Chinese dish with murky origins.

Steps to make Chopsuey:
  1. Saute garlic and onion in medium heat pan/wok with oil until garlic is golden brown and onions are translucent. Add dried shrimp and cook for about a minute. Set aside.
  2. Turn heat to high and stir fry chayote for about 3 minutes or until slightly transclucent. Add red and green bell peppers, carrots, corn, and cabbage and cook for another minute.
  3. Add broccoli and cauliflower and cook for about 2 minutes and turn heat to medium. Add water cooked garlic, onions, and dried shrimp. Add optional fried chopped chicken liver and squid balls. Add cooked quail eggs and snow peas and bring to a boil.
  4. Add fish sauce, oyster sauce, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for 2 minutes. Turn off heat and add optional cashew nuts.

Chop suey has always been my favorite dish at Chinese restaurants, and after several tries I've managed to come up with this dish that tastes very similar to the chop suey at my favorite Chinese restaurant.
